One Outcome of the Great Covid Pause is that I have begun mentoring individuals from across California and the country to further their tracking, plant medicine and natural history skills. Each mentorship is customized to the skill level, passions and intentions of the individual, allowing us both to expand and grow in our tracking practices. Come support your bear neighbors and the North Bay Bear Collaborative through this unique fundraising event. We will meet in the morning at Pepperwood Preserve and begin with a short slide show and chat about the North Bay's local bears. From there we will head out on the land to enter the lands black bears call home. During this time we will learn their track and sign: tracks, feeding sign, scat, beds, bear marking trees, and more. To end this great day, we will head back to Peppwerwood's Dwight Center for a local and wild foraged meal. For more information, please reach out to Meghan here. During this training you will learn protocols to collect bear scat and hair for DNA analysis. The training is free and will be three hours. Times still TBD.
