One Outcome of the Great Covid Pause is that I have begun mentoring individuals from a across California and the country to further their tracking skills, plant medicine and natural history. Each session is customized to the skill level, passions and intentions of the individual, allowing us both to expand and grow in our tracking practices. If you are curious and would like more details, please contact me here.

Tracking evaluator and hunter Matt Nelson and I will be offering a last-minute pop-up trailing class in the high desert of Cuyama, CA at Quail Springs Permaculture Retreat Center. From Thursday, September 27th thru Sunday September 30th, we will learn the art of trailing an animal as it moves through its daily routines. Deer, cougar, black bear, coyote, and all the little creatures of the desert provide ample learning opportunities as we explore the Dick Smith Wilderness, Chumash Wilderness and the Los Padres National Forest. Quail Springs offers a rustic, private, and secluded canyon for us to camp in, while providing nutritious, local and organic breakfasts and dinners. Participants will provide their own lunches and camping gear. We are looking for a minimum of 5 and a max of 8 people to join us for this adventure!
